When you become a Northern Armstrong EMS subscriber, you’re doing more than purchasing a membership. You’re making an investment in emergency medical care right here in your community.
Your annual subscription can also help reduce the financial burden of an ambulance bill. For insured subscribers, membership helps cover eligible co-insurance and co-payment amounts remaining after your insurance has paid, subject to the terms of our subscription program. Insurance deductibles are not covered. For those without insurance, subscription membership may also provide a reduced rate for eligible emergency ambulance services.
But the value of your subscription goes far beyond your own ambulance bill.
Northern Armstrong EMS does not receive direct tax subsidies from the municipalities we serve, including revenue from the Local Services Tax (LST), formerly known as the Emergency and Municipal Services Tax.
Instead, we depend on ambulance billing, subscriptions, donations, grants, and the generosity of our community to help fund the people, equipment, vehicles, and resources necessary to provide dependable emergency medical services.
Your subscription helps us:
Keep an ambulance close to home. When an emergency happens, minutes matter. Your support helps keep a local ambulance staffed, equipped, and ready to respond when you or your neighbors need us most.
Meet the rising cost of providing EMS. Ambulances, lifesaving medical equipment, medications, supplies, maintenance, fuel, insurance, and training all come at a significant cost. Today, a new ambulance can cost more than $200,000 before adding the medical equipment and supplies necessary to place it in service.
Recruit and retain qualified personnel. An ambulance is only as valuable as the people staffing it. Your support helps us recruit, train, and retain dedicated EMTs, EMRs, and other qualified professionals who are prepared to answer the call.
Strengthen EMS throughout our region. We value our relationships with neighboring ambulance services and public safety agencies. Working together strengthens emergency response throughout our area, while maintaining a strong local EMS presence helps keep emergency medical care close to the communities we serve.
Emergencies don't follow a schedule. They happen at home, at work, on the road, and in the middle of the night. That's why Northern Armstrong EMS is committed to being ready 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Every subscription helps us continue that commitment—not only for you, but for your family, your neighbors, and everyone who depends on local emergency medical services.
If you already have a subscription through another ambulance service or choose not to purchase a membership, please consider making a donation to Northern Armstrong EMS. Every contribution makes a difference and helps prepare us for the next call.
